How to prepare for my first one to one yoga classes online?

There are a few things you can do to prepare for your first online Private yoga class:

1. Before purchasing, please take the time to read through the terms and conditions associated with the Virtual Private Yoga class. This will ensure that you are fully aware of what you are agreeing to.

2. Familiarize yourself with the technology you’ll be using. If the Zoom application is new to you, take some time before your scheduled yoga session to learn how it works. This will give you enough time to feel more comfortable with the application.

3. Set up your space ahead of time so that you won’t have any distractions during the session. Choose a spot in your home where you feel comfortable and where there’s enough room for you to move around freely without knocking anything over.

4. Make sure you have all the props nearby that you might need, such as yoga mats, blankets, blocks, and straps (or whatever is suggested by the teacher).

5. Ensure that you are logged onto the internet at least 10 to 15 minutes prior to the start time of your sessions. This will provide sufficient time for you to get settled in and make any necessary modifications if required.

6. To prevent any stomach discomfort and digestive problems, ensure that you wait at least 2 hours after eating a large meal before starting your session. Do not eat a heavy meal prior to the start of the activity.

7. Finally, relax and enjoy the experience! Yoga is about selfacceptance and understanding. It‘s about learning to find the balance between effort and ease, pushing your limits but not overdoing them. Yoga does not require perfection; instead, it encourages you to accept your limitations and learn to work within them. Practicing yoga can help you become more mindful of how your body feels in different poses as well as encourage patience with yourself when things don‘t go perfectly every time. Online private yoga can be just as beneficial and enjoyable as in-person classes, so allow yourself to let go and be present in the moment.

Please note that all online private sessions are scheduled in Central European Time (CET: UTC +01:00, Austria) I will respond to your request within 24 hours.

What are the contraindications for taking one-on-one yoga classes online?

The primary contraindications for taking oneonone online yoga classes are the same as those associated with in-person classes. These include recent surgery or chronic injuries, serious medical conditions such as heart disease and high blood pressure, vertigo or balance issues, cancer or glaucoma, a herniated disk in the spine, severe carpal tunnel syndrome, age over 70 years old, limited range of motion due to joint pain or arthritis, past surgeries that may affect the ability to practice safely and any other physical condition which would make it unsafe to participate in a class. Prior to beginning yoga (or any other exercise regimen), it is essential to confer with a doctor if there are any concerns. This will verify that the practice is safe and appropriate for your individual needs.

Pregnant women should consult their doctor before starting any exercise program, including yoga for pregnancy. Yoga for pregnancy classes can provide many benefits for expectant mothers, but it is important to get the OK from your physician first. Additionally, it is important to ensure that the teacher has a thorough understanding of any physical restrictions or limitations prior to beginning practice.

Safety considerations when practicing online one to one yoga classes online?

For a secure yoga routine in your own home, consider the following advice:

  1. Clear the space: Prepare a dedicated area for your yoga practice that is free from clutter and obstacles. Remove any furniture or objects that could hinder your movements or cause accidents.

  2. Adequate flooring: Choose a suitable surface for your practice, such as a yoga mat or a non-slippery floor. This will provide stability and prevent any slips or falls during the session.

  3. Proper lighting: Ensure that the room is well-lit so that you can clearly see yourself and follow the instructor’s cues. Insufficient lighting can lead to incorrect alignment and potential injuries.

  4. Internet connection: Make sure you have a stable internet connection to avoid interruptions during the session. A weak or unstable connection can disrupt the class and hinder your ability to follow instructions.

  5. Equipment safety: If you are using props or yoga accessories during your practice, ensure they are in good condition and appropriate for your skill level. Check that item like blocks, straps, or bolsters are sturdy and properly positioned to support your body.

  6. Beware of your medical conditions: In case of doubt consult your doctor prior to the yoga practice.
  7. Pay attention to instructions: Follow the teacher’s instructions when practicing yoga online to prevent incorrect movements.
  8. Communicate with your instructor: Mention any discomfort during practice so the instructor can provide adjustment/alternative pose (if applicable). Not every posture may be suitable for your current level of flexibility or strength. Avoid pushing yourself beyond your limits to prevent injuries.

  9. Be mindful of your limitations: Respect your body’s limits and avoid overexertion. Do not force yourself into poses that cause pain or discomfort. Gradually progress at your own pace, and remember that yoga is a personal practice.

  10. Listen to your body: Pay attention to any sensations or discomfort during the practice. If something feels off or causes pain, stop and take a break. Consult a healthcare professional if necessary.
  11. Stay hydrated: Have a water bottle nearby to stay hydrated throughout the session. Keeping your body well-hydrated helps prevent fatigue and promotes overall well-being.

Remember, while online yoga classes can be convenient and accessible, it’s essential to prioritize safety and self-care throughout your practice.
